First Branch of UBS was established in 1747. The three core component of the company Union Bank of Switzerland, Swiss Bank Corporation and Paine Webber were launched in 1860s and 1870s. In 1998, Modern UBS was formed through a merger of the Union Bank of Switzerland and Swiss Bank Corporation. UBS was the new name of mergers companies. UBS stand for “United bank of Switzerland”. UBS headquarter situated in Basel and Zurich, Switzerland.


All UBS business groups rebranded under the UBS name on June 9, 2003. The bank had 81,557 employees on June 30, 2007. By regional, 27,315 in Switzerland, 31,355 in the America, 13,355 in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and 8,954 in Asia and Australia.
The UBS trading floor holds the Guinness World Record as the largest securities trading floor in the world. The UBS trading floor situated in Stamford, Connecticut.

UBS logo is the identity of “United Bank of Switzerland”. UBS logo is easily recognizable in world wide. UBS logo is not only very simple but also illustrates the company message to their targeted audience.

Then the keys represent the 3 components of UBS. What kind of keys are these and why were keys used in the logo?

I take the train from Stamford, CT, and have time to ponder on such things, since two logos are in view.
