Educational logos are created for various types of educational institutes and organizations such as:

High school Logos
College Logos
University Logos
Business School Logos
Certification school logo
Community college logo

Now as a designer, when you are assigned to come up with a few options for an educational logo, do not forget to ask the type of educational institute and why the institute is famous for and stands for. Since educational institutes are different from conventional businesses, you will need to address to their requirements differently.

Most educational logos tend to have standard elements such as a seal, book, pencil, lamp, light, torch etc. I think we can also include elements such as light, sunshine, too. The idea is to make the logo trustable, serious, committed, slightly conservative, and most importantly consider is the age group to which the organization is directed. Logos for schools focusing on young kids should have colorful, fun, and friendly colors and fonts. Higher education institutes on the other hand should have a logo that stands for the values, culture and legacy of the school.

Remember! Many schools, colleges and universities sell their branded merchandise, that carries their logos. You should keep this in mind, and design a logo that can be easily adjusted in different sizes and looks good on various background colors.
