US Capitol Christmas tree
The US Capitol tree is an American tradition since 1964. The original tree was 24-foot Douglas fir; it died after 1968 due to heavy storm and root damage. Since then, the tree is provided by the US department of Agriculture Forest Service. This year, the tree is a 65-foot Sierra white fir. It has been decorated with 10,000 LED lights and 3,000 ornaments.
