45th CMA Awards – Honouring Country Music

 

With its inception in 1967, CMA Awards continues to acknowledge and honour the talent in the category of Country Music.

November 9, the glittering night of 45th Country Music Association Awards was truly a spectacular show.  Held at Bridgestone Arena, the show was hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. They both returned as co-host for the fourth consecutive year.

The 45th CMA Awards was packed with performances from some of the biggest music stars including Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, The Band Perry, Blake Shelton, Martina McBride and many others.

A tribute to Glen Campbell was given by Vince Gill, Brad Paisley and Keith Urban. Glen Campbell is a shining star in country music, a name of inspiration and magnificence.

Among all the stars, Taylor Swift took the biggest award, Entertainer of the Year. Competing with her, for this award, were Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban.

Male Vocalist of the Year – Blake Shelton

New Artist of the Year – The Band Perry

Vocal Group of the Year – Lady Antebellum

Single of the Year – “If I Die Young” by “The Band Perry”

Album of the Year 2011- “My Kinda Party,” Jason Aldean

Musical Event of the year – “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” Jason Aldean with Kelly Clarkson

Music Video of the Year 2011 – “You and Tequila,” Kenny Chesney featuring Grace Potter

Musician of the Year – Mac McAnally
