Sunday, 20th November, 2011 was a night full of glitz, glamour, stars and it was all about recognizing talent in the music industry. This glittering, sparkling and magnificent night was dazzled by superlative star performances, but who stole the whole show? Who caught the limelight? She is none other than the charming Taylor Swift.
Taylor Swift was the star of the 2011 American Music Awards. She won three important titles; one of which is the “Artist of the Year.” She has won this title for the second time; first time, it was back in 2009.
Taylor was nominated for three categories and she won all of them. She was recognized as the Favourite Country Female Artist and Favourite Country Album. It was meant to be her day…
Taylor Swift, the happiest, contented and Fearless singer expressed her emotions as: “This is the craziest thing that has ever happened to me. Fans, please never change. I can’t believe this is happening to me!”
Upon wining Favourite Country Album Award, Taylor said, “i wrote this album while i was on the Fearless tour and so i ended up writing lots of these songs at four in the morning in hotel rooms.”
It was a big night for Adele also; she won three American Music Awards including Adult Contemporary Artist, Pop/Rock Female Artist and Pop/Rock Album.
Jenifer Lopez awarded the Favourite Latin Artist. Katy Perry received a special award for becoming the first woman ever to have five number -1 singles from one album.
