New Logo for Yellow Pages Group’s New Brand Image

World renowned Yellow Pages Group has announced a new logo design. Canada based YPG’s logo was one of the finest examples of logo design. It was simple, explained the whole idea of yellow pages, and established a brand identity for the product and the group. Yellow pages’ logo commonly known as Walking Fingers logo had two fingers crawling pages of a book. The book represented Yellow Pages directory and walking fingers suggested searching or browsing listings in the directory.
The New logo consists on the Walking finger crawling into yellow space. The space here represents the various formats of new media and new ways to browse and search the listings in Yellow Pages.
Stéphane Marceau, Chief Marketing Officer at Yellow Pages Group said: “The new YPG logo positions us as resolutely modern, innovative, and digital. While significant changes have been made, we kept our most important assets building on over 100 years of vested brand equity; our famous yellow color is bolder and our trademarked Walking Fingers™ – one of the most recognized icons worldwide – continues to be at the heart of our identity.”
Marceau continued: “The ad campaign is young, it’s funny and it underlines how our mobile and web platforms are central to the future of YPG. We are Canada’s media leader in terms of online and mobile reach, number of online advertisers and Internet revenues.”
